Oolitic Aragonite

Natural high-purity calcium carbonate · Bahamian marine origin
CAS 471-34-1
FORMULA CaCO₃
REV 2026.1
ISSUED JUL 2026
Description

Oolitic aragonite is a naturally occurring polymorph of calcium carbonate precipitated grain-by-grain from warm, shallow Bahamian seawater. Its orthorhombic lattice is metastable and more soluble than calcite, which can raise reactivity and calcium availability under comparable conditions. The material is washed, screened, dried and classified — never mined, never kilned.

Applications

Agriculture and soil amendment · aquarium and aquaculture · energy materials · construction and cement · glass batch feed · environmental remediation · ground calcium carbonate fillers · water treatment · horticulture and turf.
